Just a quick update. We are still working on new material, and have quite a bit written at the moment. We plan to resume gigging very soon, maybe even by the end of 2004. Fingers crossed. Samples of the new tracks will be posted on this site within the coming weeks. Also, the guestbook seems to be down at the moment. Keep on checking, it will be back up shortly.

Sirocco regret to announce that we have parted ways with Pat. It is a mutual agreement, as he no longer has enough free time to maintain his interests within the band. We wish Pat the best of luck with future endeavours. We will soon begin tryouts for a new bass player. Also, we are still looking for a full time vocalist. Please contact if interested

Sirocco will be heading to the studio in November this year to record their second E.P. in Shay Studio, Galway. New Equipment is on the way, and tour dates are still being negotiated. Added new photos to the "other photo" section and added a new image to the "band art" section.

Sirocco are currently planning out their Summer Tour, amidst jamming sessions. A few vocal tryouts coming up this week as well, so we're expecting a new vocalist by the week's end. Dates will be announced shortly. Also, the release of "Amigdula" is being held off until the tour is finalized. We will be adding another track or 2 to the cd since we will have extra time on our hands.

Sirocco's second cd recording is now in the mastering stages, and is due to be released on July 3rd 2004. The title of the disc will be "Amigdula" and will include 8 tracks (5 new) and an enhanced video featuring 2 live songs. Also, included in the cd inlay will be the password which you can use to gain access to the members section on this site. A gig is being planned to celebrate the release of the cd. More info will be available during the month.

As you may have noticed... the new Sirocco site has now been launched! Loads of new stuff for you to check out, including samples of 2 brand new Sirocco recordings! You can check them out in the audio section. I think the new site is much more innovative and professional, and contains a lot more information on the band, both current and past. The new site also contains a brand new members section, which will be opened some time around the middle of June, to coincide with the new demo. Dates for our upcoming summer tour are also currently being negotiated, and the first few dates will be announced by the end of next month. Also, I'm sure you've noticed those annoying ads in the right hand corner of the screen... They should be gone within the coming weeks, but until then, just click on the "X" on top of them to clear them.

Work begins on our second demo tomorrow morning, starting with scratch tracks being recorded and rob laying down his drum tracks. "My Time", "Euthanasia" and "Trapped" will all be re-recorded for this demo, as well as 5 new songs. Previews will be availble on the site over the weekend, but the cd will not be released until we find a new singer, and have him lay down the vocal tracks.

Sirocco are now in the market for a new vocalist. If you would like a tryout, please check out the contact section. All applicants and all styles of vocals will be considered. We are not looking for any specific styles, but more for a singer that will suit what we play. You must be able to make it to the lismore, Co Waterford area for practice, at least once a week for the moment, and must be willing to commit to the band.

Just spent about 4 hours fixing up the photo section a little bit. I properly thumbnailed the photos from the Central gig and divided them into a few pages to make for faster loading. I also changed the site password so Pat cant take down the pics he doesnt like of himself :P

Sirocco will be recording a new demo all throughout this month, in place of our Exodus demo, which is now out of print after 100 copies. It will not be a studio recording, but will instead be tracked during jamming sessions and will include some new songs. However, it will not be available until the band find a new lead vocalist and have them track their vocals for the demo. Should be a great quality demo, as we will not have any time constraints, and will be able to get all the sound perfect. Hopefully, this time, we will be able to include the Enhanced Video of the recording sessions on the cd, as long as we can get our hands on a cam.

Hot off the heels of an amazing gig in the Central Bar. If you missed it.... shame on you. Detox played a blistering one hour set, followed by the almighty Sirocco with guest vocalists Lucinda Tobin and DAVE "Corpsegrinder" Condon. The final set varied greatly from the original I posted a few days ago. There was a surprise rendition of Harvester of Sorrow as well as Blind, which was also played as an encore. Great night, hopefully we will return same time next year : P But for the moment, we're off on our journey to complete our Irish Tour 2004. More dates will be up during the week

The Sirocco curse continues. Fergal has decided to leave the band effective immediately. This is extremely disappointing, as not only was Fergal one of the only 2 original members of the band, but we have 24 hours to scramble and find a replacement vocalist in time for our Central gig on Saturday.

Just finished a fairly arguous practice with Detox in the Lismore Courthouse. Detox seem to have their set perfected. I still think we're not up to scratch. We have one more day of practice which is tomorrow, so hopefully we'll get everything layed down quickly. Just putting the finishing touches on a new song, which still doesnt have a name. If we can complete it by tomorrow evening, we'll debut it in the central saturday night.
